14th September 2012 - Club Launches 2012 Coaching Program
As mentioned in our club guidelines and introduction letter for this season, we are moving ahead with our coaching program. The club has retained a leading soccer coaching consultant to develop a structured program for the club and a process for streaming our players when the teams first enter the league, when the teams move from a 7-aside to 9-aside and later to the 11-aside game. Albert Sugg has agreed to work with St James Athletic FC to assess our players first and develop a program that suits the need of our club/ players. Albert has also retained the services of Conor Grehan, another experienced hand to ensure we cover all of the club’s thirteen junior teams and our academy.
Commencing next Saturday and over the next six weeks both Albert and Conor will become regular followers of St James Athletic, both on the sidelines on match days and on the training grounds. Both coaches will observe the players performing on the pitch and the coaches on the training grounds. Albert and Conor will develop a training plan tailored for each team and work with each team coaches to execute his program. Albert will continue working with the club coaches over the season and provide feedback to coach/ player on their development.
The club has also committed to developing each coach in line with the FAI requirements and to ensure each coach completes an FAI kick start I & II coaching course over the coming season. Some of the current coaching staff at the club are already qualified to kick start I.
